CSA – Week 10?

Today’s CSA will be providing potatoes, tomatoes, corn, okra, garlic, basil, sweet and hot peppers, and ground cherries.

Note that this is the millionth week I’ve gotten potatoes and I have at least 10 potatoes just sitting on my counter.

Any ideas on what I can do with the okra?  I’d rather not fry it, since I’m trying to be healthier and all.  But I don’t really eat okra and have no idea how to prepare it.

Milk says I should give it away.

Make some gumbo and throw the okra in.

Girl — it is too hot for gumbo. LOL. But I’ll be making a big pot come October.

okra stew. the recipe i use is on the back of safeway frozen okra. all i can remember now (i’m at work, but i do have a bag at home) is okra, stewed tomatoes, celery, onion, garlic. you serve it over rice. mmmm.

Is that the same as smothered okra? I’m planning to make it once the CSA delivers a large amount of okra. This week, I had 7 pods.
