Traveling with Kids

Would you let you 8 year old sit alone between two strangers so you and your SO could sit together? A couple on my flight did just that and I’m quite perplexed.  I offered up my seat to them so they could sit next to the kid.  They refused. Huh?  I don’t understand.  Is this […]

Airplane Etiquette

Is it acceptable to put your feet on the armrest of the seat in front of when flying?

Toast

2-stars 8221 W 3rd Street Los Angeles, CA 90048 Toast is your typical LA cafe. Alfresco dining, selection of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, and soups. Bakery case filled with tantalizng treats. And valet parking (of course). The location on 3rd Street adds to the charm. The people watching is phenomenal with a steady parade of […]

Jose Andres in LA

Jose Andres has a restaurant at the SLS Hotel in LA. The menu is tapas style – as seems to be Mr. Andres style. The yummy watermelon tomato skewers from Jaleo make an appearance. The food is ok, some items are even good. But the service is horrible. From the two restaurants to the rooftop […]

Smoki O’s Bar-B-Que

Smoki O’s 1545 North Broadway St. Louis, Missouri 63102 (314) 621-8180 The staff at Smoki O’s are top notch.  When we arrived tired, hungry, and wet from the off and on downpours, Chris immediately worked to put us at ease.  His treatment of us lightened our minds and filled our bellies. This is a joint.  Not […]

Kemps Frozen Yogurt Parfait

The yogurt tastes good but the freezer burned blueberries seem like a bad afterthought.

I’m going back to Cali…

L.A., here I come (again).  My trip will be short but hectic.  Any recommendations on great places to eat while I’m there?

Flower Arrangement

Alive and still kicking. Let’s see what they look like when I return next week. **Edited: Clearly posting from my phone didn’t work out as well as I’d hoped.  I don’t know how to fix it so, if you don’t mind, just crane your neck towards your right shoulder a bit.  Teehee…** I bought these […]

Making it With Leftovers

What was for dinner last night? Steak & chicken quesadillas Chop up the leftover grilled steak and chicken into bite sized pieces.  Saute it with a chopped tomato, 1 chopped spring onion, 1 chopped garlic scape, and a few shakes of dried cilantro. In another pan, I toast the bottom of a large (burrito sized) […]
